'She demanded I hire her, but I refused': HR tries to dump a slacker employee on a hard-working manager; they get denied even after they try to pull the 'single mother' card

Slacker people like to hide behind their perceived shortcomings in order to validate their lack of work ethic. The biggest problem with that is that they are immediately discrediting other hard working folks in the same situation, while making themselves a pity case for everyone around them. In this story, one slacker employee found refuge in her workplace by playing the 'single mother' card, using the same excuse for every one of her deficiencies as an employee and a coworker (even when it was completely unrelated). Late for work? Oops, it's because she's a single mother, sorry. Never finishing your projects on time? Single mother. Pawning your work onto your coworkers? Yeah, that's certainly because of your motherhood status... *eye roll*

Her boss finally had rolled his eyes for the last time to this woman when he was offered a managerial position in another department. He successfully poached his entire team (apart from the slacker) and was excited to start his new office life without the weak link. Except he received an agregious phone call from HR claiming that the single mother was entitled to a position in his new team.
